It’s the number of the devil. I think that rock and all things Satanic are very closely related. I think this was especially true in the past. I mean, metal fans throw up the sign of the horns, and stuff. I originally liked metal a lot, and from there I fell in love with horror.
When I started my solo career, I wanted it to take the shape of the kind of rock I’d envisioned as a young boy. I was wondering what the CD cover should look like, and what I should title it, and I decided that I wanted it to take on a Satanic feel.
I wanted the title to be something that only I could come up with, and that I would hate for someone else to come up with before me, and what came to mind was “666”.
That set everything into motion, and even now, when I need to use a number for anything, I always use “6”.
But now, even when I don’t say anything, my staff is like, “you like the number 6, right?” and they incorporate 6 into a lot of things for me (laughs). Of course, I’m not opposed to it.
(I don’t know why, but this is one of my favorites pics of you…)
Happy birthday! ¡Feliz cumpleaños @hydeofficial! You’re the best musician and a beautiful human being. I wish you happiness, success, love and a very, very long life💖
